Domestic Goddess...................mmmmm

I'm very late on my challenges, so this is for the gothic arch challenge of last week, which was..........Domestic Goddess. Well i thought here's where i can have a bit fun...........what better then a lovely french maid, domestic goddess in all sences of the word lol. Hope you like her. She hasn't half left those cobwebs build up has she? Now if only i could say it was a self potrait....................bummer eh. lol
The third arch was a sort of a twist on the theme, twisted christmas eh?. Here we see the male domestic , gonna leave it to you to work out why the saying is appropriate. lol lol lol. Glad to say this isnt a self potrait too lol. Hope you like it.

Here is my first offical attempt at the gothic arch challenge, May i say i find it daunting , due to the quality and inspirational work those girls do weekly. Thank you for sharing your lovely work girls.

I decided to take a different road on this challenge ,and deal with a lickle interesting story as well.............. The scandelous Kings mistress. lol.
The painting by Byrne Jones was to depict the story of Rosamund, the mistress of King Henry 11. It was loosely based on her life as his mistress from her teens , right up to her death in a convent in her twenties. She is alleged to have been executed by Queen Eleanor, who accused her of being a traitor. Here we see the terror in her face as she tries to escape, her face swoolen with tears. Her pale clothes helping to denote a virginal aspect and in the large painting we see his wife, the queen dressed in witch black. The key and lock, golden and unattainable finishs the arch.
